Empecemos por entender qué es lo que tenemos en nuestras manos.
Let’s begin by understanding what we have in our hands.
Prácticamente todas las prendas o artículos llevan una etiqueta que no siempre entendemos y si le sumamos que tampoco nos han dado un curso intensivo de lavadoras o cómo no destrozar la seda… pues nos encontramos completamente desvalidos ante tareas tan sencillas como sacar lustro a nuestros zapatos (lo de las lavadoras lo dejaremos para otro momento).
Practically all clothes or articles have a label that we do not always understand and if we add that we have not received an intensive course of washing machines or how not to destroy the silk … then we are completely helpless in the face of such simple tasks like shining our shoes (we will leave the issue of washing machines for another time).
Charol / Patent leather
Frota ligeramente con un paño húmedo de algodón (si no lleva etiqueta de composición, pregúntale a tu madre) para igualar el tono. Si es antic, aplica una crema que sea natural y frota.
Rub lightly with a damp cotton cloth (if you do not have a composition label, ask your mother) till balance the tone. If antic, apply a cream that is natural and rubs.
Metalizadas / Metallized leather
Volvemos a necesitar un paño húmedo, intentaremos quitar las manchitas frotando suavemente.
We need a damp cloth again, we will try to remove the spots by rubbing it gently.
Engrasadas / Greased leather
Aplicamos grasa de caballo o ceras naturales a un cepillito y vamos extendiendo de manera uniforme el producto sobre la piel, luego con un paño podemos retirar el excedente.
Apply horse grease or natural waxes in a brush and we spread evenly the product on the skin, then with a cloth we can remove the surplus.
Ante / Suede leather
Primero limpiaremos en seco. Con un cepillo de cerdas suaves quitaremos las manchas frotando de forma no agresiva y a contra pelo. Si hay rozaduras podemos usar una goma de borrar. Para las manchas de aceite primero usaremos un paño para secarlo pero sin frotar.
First clean dry. With a brush of soft bristles we will remove the spots by rubbing non-aggressively and against the hair. If there is rubbing we can use an eraser. For oil stains first use a cloth to dry but not rub.
Napa / Nappa
Retomamos nuestro paño de algodón, pero seco. Quitaremos el polvo y le daremos brillo frotando. Para darle más vida podemos utilizar crema incolora o del mismo tono.
We take back our cotton cloth, but dry. We will remove the dust and give it shine by rubbing the surface. To give it more color we can use cream colorless or of the same tone.
Siempre debemos dejar el bolso, zapato, chaqueta… secar al aire, nada de secadores ni calefacción.
We should always leave the bag, shoe, jacket … dry in the open air, no dryer or heating.
